(HELTONVILLE) - The Lawrence County-Bedford Police Combined Drug task Force, along with officers from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, recovered more than 10 pounds of marijuana and one suspect from a Heltonville farm.
Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig tells WBIW News 56-year-old John Haddan of Heltonville is in Lawrence County jail facing felony charges of dealing more than 10 pounds of marijuana, possession more than 30 grams of marijuana, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Craig says a warrant was served late Sunday night at a farm and home on Knob Creek Road in Heltonville, near the Monroe County line, where officers found pot plants between 3 and 4 feet tall, processed marijuana, and other pot plants handing from a barn ceiling drying.
Craig says officers also found Haddan in the barn of the property reportedly processing and tending marijuana plants.
Craig says pot in one form or another was found in a shed on the property, and in the barn, where he says an elaborate watering and lighting apparatus was found, along with more plants hidden behind stacks of hay.
Monroe County officials were called in to assist due to the proximity of the property to the Lawrence-Monroe County line.
