(BEDFORD) - Bedford appeared to be the epicenter for snow problems yesterday morning. By the time most areas were already clear, just before noon yesterday, Bedford and Lawrence County police were still dealing with issues.
Mitchell police reported no issues on their roadways yesterday, not even a slide-off, while Bloomington, Monroe County and state police were dealing with just a few problems throughout their jurisdictions.
However, Lawrence County police had to deal with a jackknifed semi outside of Oolitic plus more than one multi-car accident on IN-37 at the Avoca intersection yesterday morning which snarled traffic during rush hour, and Bedford police were constantly busy on IN-58 between the WBIW radio studios and the city limits to the east.
And the culprit seems to have been a thin glaze of ice underneath our snow that didn't seem to affect other areas as much.
However, sunshine yesterday afternoon has cleared area roadways for today, getting it ready for rain and snow we have forecasted tonight and tomorrow.
