(BLOOMINGTON) - A court date has been scheduled for the Indiana University law student who is accused of firing an assault rifle from his apartment balcony at one of his textbooks.
The October 2007 incident had the City of Bloomington a little on edge as reports initially came out saying a gunman was randomly shooting near the downtown area.
Turns out, Jesse Sneed, who was 27 at the time of incident, allegedly tossed one of his real-estate law textbooks onto the parking lot below while intoxicated, fired a few rounds from an AR-15 assault rifle into it, and then fled the scene, only to be picked up quickly by cops.
Police had the area around Arch Haven Apartments cordoned off for hours while they made sure everything was safe.
The Bloomington Herald Times reports Sneed will now face a felony criminal recklessness charge in Monroe Circuit Court on April 2nd.
