(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington quarryman was crushed by a stone yesterday afternoon.
The Bloomington Herald Times reports 47-year-old Tim McCammon of Bloomington did not survive the accident, and an autopsy is scheduled, though no foul play is expected.
The paper reports McCammon was helping with "hooking" a stone, but it apparently destabilized and fell to one side, crushing the 47-year-old man beneath the 14x6-foot slab. The accident happened at the Victor Oolitic Stone Company quarry which is on South Victor Pike in Monroe County.
The accident was reported at 3:06pm, and, somewhat serendipitously, ended a 306 day injury-free streak the company had set.
