(BEDFORD) - Bedford police and fire crews made a bit of a daring rescue of a local teenager last night at Stack Rock.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News officers were called to the popular teen hangout around 6:30 last night by a teenager that had fallen over the quarry's edge, landed on a ledge and grabbed on to a tree, hanging on for dear life.
Parsley says Bedford officers arrived at the scene and tossed a rope down to the young man to keep him safe until fire rescue crews could arrive.
When Bedford fire crews showed up, one rappelled down the side of the precipice, retrieved the teen, and brought him to safety.
The name of the teen in trouble was not available by deadline.
