(COLUMBUS) - A $25 million verdict awarded in a Columbus family’s lawsuit against Ford Motor Company and other businesses was reversed Friday by the Indiana Court of Appeals.
The family of Daniel Moore, who was killed in December 2001 when his sport utility vehicle flipped on Interstate 65, would have received $9 million from the 2007 jury decision.
However, the appeals court decided 2-1 that Moore's estate "failed to present sufficient evidence" that ford or a seat-belt manufacturer "breached a duty of reasonable care."
