(GREENE COUNTY) - A coal truck headed east on IN-58 yesterday afternoon flipped onto its side trying to miss a deer, but the driver was able to walk away.
The Greene County Sheriff's Department reports 36-year-old Wayne Taylor of Coal City was driving his Mack quad-axle truck east on IN-58 when he came upon a deer, swerved to miss it, bobbed off the roadway, and when he came back on, his load apparently shifted causing the truck to overturn and land on its passenger side.
Taylor was not injured in the incident, but IN-58 had to be closed for a while to right the truck and haul it off and clean up the spilled load of coal that covered the roadway.
