(BEDFORD) - The East Lawrence Water Authority is seeking permission to raise rates, and the state panel that governs utility rates is setting up a meeting for public comment.
The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, who handles the consumer end of cases before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, has a meeting planned for Monday, April 6th, to hear public concerns.
The meeting kicks off at 5:30pm at Bedford Middle School with the OUCC discussing how the public hearing process works, and then at 6:00pm, the IURC will hear oral and written comments from East Lawrence Water customers about the increase.
East Lawrence Water is seeking about a 15% rate hike.
