(BLOOMINGTON) - The topic of discussion for this afternoon’s meeting of the Bloomington/Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization will be the controversial Interstate 69 extension project.
The Bloomington Herald Times reports the meeting for that will be today at 1:30pm at Bloomington City Hall's McClosky Room.
One of the items on the agenda for the project will be the acquisition of a parcel of land on the southwest corner of the IN-37/Tapp Road intersection for the I-69 alignment.
The current I-69 plan has sections 4 and 5 of the road passing through Monroe County.
The overall road will stretch from Evansville, northeast via Vanderburgh, Gibson, Pike, Daviess, Greene, Monroe, Morgan and Johnson Counties to Indianapolis.
