(WASHINGTON) - Indiana residents will have a chance to voice their opinions on the alignment of a section of the I-69 extension.
INDOT is hosting the meeting from 5 to 9pm today at North Daviess Elementary School in between Odon and Elnora.
The input will be taken on the environmental impact of section 3 of the extension, which will run from U.S. 50 near Washington to U.S. 231 just north of the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. This alignment was chosen over other alternatives based on the impact to farmland and local roads.
INDOT will refine the alignment after public review and submit a final environmental impact statement.
Construction on the 142-mile extension began last year and is expected to be complete by 2018.
