(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana State Police from the Bloomington District will be racking up the overtime hours this month.
ISP Sgt. Curt Durnil with the Bloomington Post says, first, his crew will be setting up a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Monroe County Friday night. During the checkpoint, other troopers will be conducting saturation patrols through the area.
Additionally, state police will be participating, along with the rest of the state, in Operation Pull Over, a traffic patrol blitz that will start Friday and go through March 22nd.
The timing of the blitz revolves around the Big Ten Basketball Tournaments, this week and next, in Indianapolis.
More than 250 law enforcement agencies will be gunning for speeders, drunks, aggressive drivers and tailgaters during that time.
