(BEDFORD) - Bedford police had a very violent individual to deal with late Friday night at the Ye Olde Downtown Tavern.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News they received a call about 40-year-old Kemper Harris of Indianapolis whom they said refused to leave the bar.
When police arrived he was no longer there, but they found him near 15th and J Streets unstable on his feet. Police took him into custody for public intoxication, and that's when it all began.
Parsley alleges Harris started kicking when they were putting him in the car striking an officer, on the way to jail he kicked out the back window of the police cruiser, and continued thrashing at the jail injuring two more officers until they deployed a Taser.
Harris calmed down then and was treated for glass cuts, then charged with 3 counts of battery on an officer, criminal mischief, resisting arrest by force, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
