(BLOOMINGTON) - Smokers in Monroe County are now banned from lighting up in vehicles carrying children.
Commissioners voted Friday in favor of expanding the county's smoking ban to vehicles, one day after the county's Board of Health recommended the move.
Anyone caught smoking inside a vehicle carrying children 13 or younger, in Monroe County, will have to pay a $100 fine.
The ban, however, does not apply in the City of Bloomington or the Towns of Ellettsville or Stinesville.
