(ORANGE COUNTY) - State police from the Jasper District are planning a sobriety checkpoint for this coming Friday.
State Police Sgt. Chad Dick says state troopers will set up shop on Friday the 13th in Orange County.
As usual, sober drivers should be through the checkpoint in just a couple minutes while drunk drivers may hold things up a bit.
In Monroe County, however, Sgt. Curt Durnil has results from this past weekend's checkpoint. Durnil says 68 cars went through the checkpoint, each taking an average of 2 minutes.
15 written warnings, 8 traffic tickets and 12 criminal arrests were made, including 2 for drunk driving.
Two seat belt tickets were also written.
