(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - Two people were injured and police are investigating after an accident on Guthrie Road late last night.
Lawrence County police reports say 37-year-old Deeandra Hammond of Bedford was heading west on Guthrie Road near Lemon Quarry Road at what police describe as a high rate of speed when she ran off the road, stuck a series of utility poles, and came to a rest in a person's yard.
Police then say Hammond fled the scene, but was apprehended nearby.
Reports say Hammond's breath smelled of alcoholic beverages and toxicology tests were ordered, both Hammond and her passenger, 36-year-old Tamela Young of Bedford were treated and released at the scene for neck pain.
No charges or citations have been filed according to the report.
