(INDIANAPOLIS) - Seymour native Miss America Katie Stam stopped by to visit a few people yesterday, namely the Indiaia State Legislature.
Stam, of course, is Indiana's first ever winner of the prized tiara, and provided an opportunity for statehouse Democrats and Republicans to join together in pride, including Bedford Republican State Senator Brent Steele.
"Katie has made all of Indiana proud," Steele said, "not for just for being the first Hoosier to wear the Miss Indiana [sic] crown, but Katie's been a wonderful representative for our state and a compassionate voice for children in need."
Reportedly, the crowning of Stam as Miss America garnered a record audience on TLC.
