(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Chamber of Commerce held their annual dinner last night, doling out a number of community awards.
82-year-old Mary Guthrie won the "Volunteer of the Year" award for her help to the City of Mitchell. Charlie White's Barber Shop won "Business of the Year," in part, for keeping their doors open for more than 50 years. Jeff Tyree took "Citizen of the Year."
Also at the dinner, several people addressed the crowd about the future of Mitchell and Lawrence County, including Mayor Dan Terrell, School Superintendent John Lantis, and Lehigh Cement plant manager Ed Epping.
