(BEDFORD) - A Lawrence County teenager drowned in the White River yesterday afternoon.
Indiana DNR officials say 18-year-old Aden Taylor was hunting mushrooms along with his friend Nathan Earl, when Taylor decided to jump into the river south of Salt Creek to cool off.
DNR officials say Taylor was overcome by the cold water and the swift current, and Earl called 911.
At 3:20pm yesterday afternoon, emergency crews including Bedford, Lawrence County, Marion Township, and DNR pulled Taylor's body from about 12 feet of water, and took him to Bedford Regional Medical Center.
An autopsy is scheduled for Taylor today, and officials have not yet released a cause of death.
The investigation is continuing into the incident.
