(SPRINGVILLE) - A mistaken turn on a state highway near Springville sent two people to the hospital yesterday morning.
Lawrence County police reports say 28-year-old Lynn Conner Smith of Bloomington was heading west on IN-54/58 near the two highways' junction when she went to turn left on IN-58 at the same time 52-year-old Carl Baker was coming the other way.
Smith told police she thought Baker had to stop, and turned in front of them causing the collision. Smith complained of pain to her chest and baker reportedly suffered an incapacitating fracture to his face.
Both were taken by ambulance for treatment.
