(BEDFORD) - A traffic stop turned into a bit of a chase early this morning that landed a Bedford man in jail.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News officers clocked 29-year-old Jason Magnus of Bedford going too fast near 18th and J Streets and decided to make a traffic stop, however, Magnus reportedly didn't care for the "stop" part.
Police chased the vehicle through several streets in Bedford until Magnus tried to turn from Mitchell Road onto Sandpit Road, took the turn too hot, and spun out.
The officer got out of the cruiser and was able to make the arrest without further incident.
Magnus was lodged in the Lawrence County jail charged with driving while intoxicated, being a habitual traffic violator, resisting arrest by fleeing with a vehicle, criminal recklessness with a vehicle and...making an improper turn.
