(MITCHELL) - A teenager was injured early this morning when he lost control of his vehicle trying to avoid hitting a deer.
Around 1:30 this morning 19 year old Joseph Cobb of Mitchell was traveling west on Yockey Road when a deer ran into his path.
According to Cobb he swerved to miss the deer and doesn't remember the events that followed.
Cobb's Olds Alero then proceded to travel off the southside of the road and strike a small stump, which then caused him to strike a utility pole.
The car rolled one complete time, and came to rest in roadway right side up facing south bound.
Cobb complained of neck and head pain on the scene, and after being checked by Dunn Hospital Personal decided not to go to the hospital.
The utitly pole that Cobb struck was broken, and power lines were down.
