(BLOOMINGTON) - Police have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery that took place in Bloomington this morning.
According to a report in the Herald Times, police apprehended a man on South Walnut Street near the SR 37 intersection shortly before 11 AM this morning.
According to Bloomington Police, two armed robbers went into the Cash Advance building wearing masks and jumped the counter.
According to witnesses on scene one man had a semiautomatic handgun, the other had some type of steel rod. The suspects fled the building out the back door.
However witnesses chased the suspects as they ran across a creek and into a parking lot.
The suspects then drove away in a white SUV, which was followed by witnesses until police were able to catch up.
The SUV then stopped on South Walnut, where police say the passenger shot himself in the head. The driver was taken into custody.
