(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - The building which was once the home of the Hickory Hill restaurant and later the Old Windmill restaurant was damaged by fire in the kitchen area earlier this morning.
The fire appears to have started in the back right-side of the building and briefly spread into the entire right-side ceiling.
Chief Jim Zeeks of the Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department said to the Bedford Times Mail "A passer-by saw flames and smoke coming out of it," firefighters were called to the scene at around 2:47 AM.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The front of the building appears to be in good condition, the main entrance and buffet area are unharmed as well.
At the present the building sat vacant and no one was injured in the fire.
