(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - Lawrence County Idol 2009 took place Friday night.
Those attending enjoyed the night of music from the voted top ten best music performers of Lawrence County. Mayor Shawna Girgis hosted the concert and announced the winner at the end of the night.

Lawrence County's Newest Idol was Brent Taylor, the first male to win the contest in its history.
The audience had the opportunity to vote in addition to the judges for a cost of $1 dollar per vote and $5 dollars for six.
All of the money made from ticket sales and peoples choice vote are donated to the Limestone Heritage Festival Fireworks Fund.
