(MARENGO) - Troopers from the Jasper Post received information on a possible residential marijuana growing operation.
Marijuana Eradication Coordinator for the Jasper Post, Trooper Charles Pirtle and Indiana Conservation Officer Dennis Talley both received information that 59-year-old Walter C. Shipman of Marengo was growing marijuana inside his home.
When they arrived at Shipman's residence, officers were surprised to discover over 50 marijuana plants.
Trooper Pirtle stated that "The discovery of this indoor grow and subsequent arrest of Mr. Shipman is the direct result of officers from different agencies sharing information and then working together on the investigation to ensure that an arrest was made."
Shipman was taken into police custody without incident and transported to Crawford County Jail.
