(GREENE COUNTY) - A year ago this week, Greene County as well as many other counties endured some of the worst flooding in over 100 years.
The Greene County Daily World reports that the days leading up to the flooding were very rainy with some areas receiving more than 10 inches of rain within a matter of a day or two.
The town of Worthington was completely surrounded by water; meanwhile the city of Jasonville was without drinking for 7 days after a main water line burst due to flooding.
Local volunteer firefighters and Indiana National Guard troops assisted with the emergency distribution of hundreds of gallons of water to residents during the crisis.
Greene County damages were amounted to around $1 million
