Yesterday’s Meeting For The Bedford Board of Works and Safety.
One of the topics discussed was a request by a Bedford resident for a speed bump to be placed in his alleyway.
The citizen was concerned that with alleyways being such tight places and garages and driveways leading straight out into them with many blind spots, it could be dangerous for kids and other people walking down the alley.
The concern with the board was that if they place a speed bump in this certain alleyway they will be opening up a window for every other alleyway in Bedford.
The Street Department says that by placing the bumps in the allies would cause interference with snow plows during the winter.
The board decided to think of possible resolutions for next months meeting and will decide on something then.
