(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - Five children were injured yesterday afternoon while riding on a personal vehicle similar to that of a golf cart.
The 15-year-old driver of the cart was transporting himself, his brothers and his cousins across the street from their relative's Lawrence County home to go fishing.
Three kids were sitting up in the front of the cart and the remaining two in the carts hauling bed; the driver headed down his family members' driveway, ready to cross Henderson Creek Road near Humpback Bridge Road.
Without stopping, the group drove through the intersection as 19-year-old Mathew Silver of Indianapolis headed West on Henderson Creek Road.
Silver reportedly slowed his Dodge Caravan down as much as possible before colliding with the cart full of kids at a speed of 35 mph.
All but one of the kids was thrown from the cart.
All of the kids survived the wreck, not leaving the incident without injury however. The youngest injured was a 4-your-old, sustaining an abrasion to his back.
