(LYONS, IN) - One car owner was surprised to discover an unknown person rummaging through his vehicle in the middle of the night Wednesday night.
As the car owner came outside, closer to his vehicle, the suspect tried to exit the car and run away.
The car owner blocked the thieves exit and the thief then reportedly pulled a knife out onto the car owner. The owner then threw the suspect to the ground and struck him in the face.
Police officials noted that the car owner was holding a bloody man on the pavement as police arrived at the scene.
The man was charged with attempted theft.
Numerous car break-ins were reported in Bedford earlier this week. Most reports are still under the investigation by the Bedford Police Department.
