(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Police was called upon from the hospital yesterday evening. The call included a request for assistance from police officials about a child being bitten on the foot by a dog.
The caller said that the child may have to be transported to Riley Hospital to possibly have his foot amputated.
According to county police logs, the child was bitten on Friday but did not receive any medical aid until taken to the Bedford Regional Medical Center Sunday, raising the probability of the child's foot being infected, possibly with rabies.
The police logs also indicated that they were searching for the dog to see if the dog did indeed have rabies.
Not much more information on the story is available at this time.
