(MITCHELL) - Mitchell firefighters are hoping to soon be getting a new fire station.
The 4,800 square-foot building will hopefully be built using a grant from the state that the city will apply for at the end of July.
The cost is at an estimated $500,000 to build the station including a small kitchen and the whole cost of the building will reportedly be covered by the grant if it is received.
The city will find out if they were accepted for the grant six weeks after applying in the end of July, and if accepted will move forward from that point to final engineering.
