(BEDFORD, IN) - A semi truck backed into a car yesterday afternoon, sending an 87-year-old woman to the hospital.
As the woman headed down US 50 East in Bedford she noticed a semi truck that was sitting in a gas station parking lot.
As she approached, truck she saw it begin to back out into the roadway.
The woman told police that she honked her horn several times in an attempt to alert the truck driver that she was approaching.
The woman then tried to dodge the semi before the back of the semi's trailer collided into the passenger side of the woman's car.
The driver of the semi said that the trailer was barely out in the roadway before the collision.
The woman complained of head pains and was taken to the hospital by family to be checked out by medical personnel.
