(BEDFORD, IN) - The pre-trial for an alleged Bedford murderer took place Wednesday night.
26-year-old Joseph D. Hillenburg met with John Haury, his city appointed attorney, as well as Judge Robbins during a private pre-trial session to talk about the stabbing murder of Hillenburg's cousin, Garries Hillenburg Jr.
Police received a 911 call at 2:11AM on March 24th, reporting a stabbing in the Pride Estates Mobile Home Park, and when they arrived at the scene they found one person dead and another injured; the injured person was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig Hillenburg fled the scene on foot.
After using an Indiana State Police helicopter to locate Hillenburg, police officials questioned and then booked the man in the Lawrence County Jail.
The Lawrence County Circuit Court informed WBIW News that the pre-trial was only to talk about the case.
Normally during a pre-trial, a lawyer and a judge determine an actual jury trial date.
The decision on a trial date for Hilenburg has been postponed until lawyers and judges meet once again on November 4th.
