(MITCHELL, IN) - Mitchell Community Schools will be honored with an award for making one particular decision; that decision, making the school grounds “smoke-free”.
The school corporation is set to receive the Gary Sandfir Tobacco-Free School Campus Award on Monday at 7:00 PM from the Indiana Tobacco Prevention and Cessation or ITPC and the Lawrence County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition.
The award is named after a Kokomo man and life long smoker who died at the age of 50.
The school corporation will receive the award this coming Monday at 7:00 PM.
