(UNDATED) - Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department is warning county residents of burglaries recently taking place throughout the county.
Police have been receiving reports from residents claiming that they had been scammed by a man inquiring about cutting down a few trees on the homeowners' property.
While the residents walk with the man to look at a group of trees on the property, a second person then secretly enters their home and steals anything valuable and is easy to carry.
The first man is described as a white male, 26 to 30 years old, who is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with dark hair and brown eyes, he is clean shaven and is driving a newer white sport utility vehicle.
Anybody with any information about the suspects is asked to call the Lawrence County Police Department at 275-3316.
