Intoxicated Teens Flee Police

Last updated on Friday, August 14, 2009

(BEDFORD, IN) - Early Tuesday morning, a police officer noticed a group of four people casually walking near a gas station on 16th and Hillcrest streets.

As the officer's vehicle moved closer, the four began to panic and started to flee the area.

Noticing the suspicion of the groups actions, the officer chased after and managed to catch up with the four.

The officer found that two of the four were adults and the other two were juveniles, barely even teenagers.

After further investigation, the officer discovered that all four were heavily intoxicated.

One of the adults was reportedly supposed to act as babysitter of the two kids while their parents were away.

All four were arrested by Bedford Police for public intoxication; one of the adults, a female, was also charged with resisting law enforcement for attempting to kick out the windows of the police car.

The adults were booked in the Lawrence County Jail.

The juveniles were released to their parents and turned over to the probation department for punishment.
