(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - An expert on childhood obesity from Indiana University says society has entered a new era in combating the issue.
A recent report by the Institute of Medicine points to social conditions that lead to obesity, rather than simple laziness.
IU Associate Dean for Global and Community Health Lloyd Kolbe cites holidays that focus on eating like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Kolbe also acknowledges their cancellation will not fix the problem, saying it will take several cultural changes that involve governmental influence.
