(MITCHELL, IN) - The Mitchell water department recently violated water safety standards for drinking water, exceeding the Environmental Protection Agency’s standards.
According to water department officials, there is no need to use an alternative water supply unless a resident has specific health concern in which they are then advised to contact there physician.
Mitchell is currently in the process of switching its water system to ground water, by digging wells, eventually eliminating the high amount of contaminants in the city's water.
