(SEYMOUR, IN) - 21-year-old Michael Edward Morier, a Seymour man, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after being accused of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl he met at the Seymour City Pool in early June.
According to Seymour Detective Troy Munson, Morier is facing seven counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Morier allegedly admitted to having sexual relations with the girl, whom he met at the Seymour City Pool at Shields Park in June.
Detective Munson says that the relationship was described as consensual, but he stresses that it's still against the law because of the child's age; the sexual misconduct with a minor charge is a Class B felony and is punishable anywhere between eight to 20 years in prison.
Morier's relationship with the 14-year-old was reported to police by the girl's guardian.
