(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The Indiana University Health Center reports flu-like illnesses are significantly higher this year on the Bloomington campus.
School officials report 237 cases in September, compared to just two during the same month a year ago.
IU Health Center Medical Director Diana Ebling says it's a trend seen across the country.
More than 27 states have widespread flu activity with a number of universities reporting a higher numbers than IU.
Ebling says she is encouraging students with flu symptoms to self-isolate until their fever has gone down without medicine for at least 24 hours.
The Health Center has signed a provider agreement to receive H1N1 vaccines from the Indiana Department of Health, but no delivery date has been set.
