(BEDFORD, IN) - Starting today, Bedford City Utilities is flushing city fire-hydrants to clear blocked water lines.
Misty Adams, Bedford Utilities Director, says that this process is done twice a year.
The flushing of the hydrants will affect different areas on different this week; during the process residential water may appear rusty or discolored.
Residents are then advised to run their water until it turns clear.
On Monday, fire-hydrants near 16th & S St West, Bex Addition, Edgewood Addn., Cambridge Square, and clover Clover Park Apartments will be flushed.
On Tuesday, fire-hydrants near 17th & L St East, South to 27th, Rainbow Hills, Heritage Meadows and Broadview Addition will be flushed.
On Wednesday, fire hydrants near Lincoln Avenue North of 15th -15th West of L St., North to 10th, and John Williams Boulevard will be flushed.
On Thursday, fire hydrants near 15th & E to 15th & K, North to Breckenridge Road will be flushed.
On Friday, fire hydrants near 8th & O West to X, north to 2nd & S, Heltonville Rd., Mt. Pleasant & Boyd Lane will be flushed.
