(COLUMBUS, IN) - Five people were arrested early this morning for charges ranging from manufacturing methamphetamine to visiting a common nuisance.
Narcotics officers from the Columbus Police Department assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff office, located an active Meth Lab early this morning in an area of Lowe Addition in Columbus.
The investigation had been ongoing for nearly 4 weeks and came to its peak following a tip from an observant citizen.
When the officers arrived at the Bartholomew County address they located a lab out in the driveway.
Suspects in and around the home were taken into custody.
A search warrant was obtained and executed by the Narcotics officers.
Police say precursors for the production of Methamphetamine along with Methamphetamine in its final stages of the chemical reaction would have produced nearly 40 grams of the illegal drug with a street value of approximately $4000.
Police also located was a 9mm semi automatic pistol.
46-year-old Russell L. Sutton was arrested on a class A felony of Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, 42-year-old Bobby L Sutton was arrested on a class D felony of maintaining a Common Nuisance, 27-year-old Bridget L Gatewood was arrested on a class D felony of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, 30-year-old Matthew T Jessie and 20-year-old Tosha R. Wooten were arrested on a class B Misdemeanor of visiting a Common Nuisance.
