(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The murder trial begins today for 30-year-old Benjamin Steinberg, the man accused of killing Monroe County Jail Officer Bill Brand in 2005 as he drove home after working second shift.
He is charged with firing an assault rifle into Brand's truck.
Brand was hit in the head by a bullet and killed.
Steinberg was not arrested until October 2007.
