31-year-old Regina M. Hatton of Bloomington is facing charges of Theft, a class D felony; conversion, a class A misdemeanor; Fraud, a class D felony and attempted theft, a class D felony.
According to Indiana State Police investigators, Hatton gained entry into the victim's residence by calling him from her cell phone at 2:30AM while she waited at the back door.
She eventually convinced the 79 year old victim to open his door and allow Hatton to enter his house.
The victim knew Hatton from prior work that she had done at his residence.
Hatton had first told the victim she needed to use his phone because her cell phone was running out of minutes.
Once inside the house, she told him she needed to use his bathroom.
The victim says that Hatton then walked past the nearest bathroom and went straight to the bathroom next to the victim's bedroom.
After Hatton left his residence, the victim noticed his wallet was missing from his bedroom, where he had allegedly placed it before he retired for the night.
