(NASHVILLE, IN) - A Brown County woman accused of killing her estranged husband has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.
Doctors who performed a court-ordered psychiatric examination believe 40-year-old Dottie Andrews lacks the ability to understand and assist in her defense.
Firefighters found the body of 44-year-old Robert Andrews lying next to that of his dog, inside his burned-out whispering pines road mobile home in the early morning hours of June 19th, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Dottie was found outside her estranged husbands burning home early Friday in June.
Andrews originally waited outside her husband's home until all of the lights went out and then entered the house and shot her husband while he slept in bed as well as shot their dog.
She reportedly planned on shooting herself inside the home as well but her .25 caliber handgun jammed.
She eventually escaped the house fire in which she started and called 9-11 as she lye in the yard.
