(BEDFORD, IN) - One Bedford man died as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash Tuesday afternoon on US Highway 50 West about 1 1/2 miles west of Indiana Highway 37.
41-year-old Steven K. Webb was pronounced dead upon arrival at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Webb reportedly was traveling on US Highway 50 West when his car ran off of the road, struck a sign and culvert, became airborne and inverted.
The vehicle eventually came to rest on its top after striking a house.
According to Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill an autopsy was performed on Webb Tuesday evening.
Preliminary autopsy results showed Webb died as a result of multiple injuries suffered in the crash.
It is not certain at this time what exactly caused Webb's car to leave the side of the road and overturn; drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor.
According to the Lawrence County Police Dispatch Log, several calls were made to the police department concerning an unresponsive male trapped in an overturned car.
