(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Firefighters in Bloomington can now look forward to a 3% raise each year for the next four years.
This after a new contract agreement between the city and Firefighters Union.
The new contract will give firefighters some of the same benefits as the city's police officers.
It includes more retirement money, an increase in longevity pay, and it increases the ceiling for special certification pay from $4,400 to $4,800 a year.
The base salary for a class 1 firefighter is about $41,000.
