(COLUMBUS, IN) - Eight people suspected of dealing cocaine have been arrested in Columbus following a nearly two-year investigation by local authorities.
This information has reportedly alarmed authorities with the abundance of cocaine available in the city of Columbus.
Eight of the nine total suspects were arrested Friday; police continue to search for the ninth suspect.
Undercover officers were able to buy powder cocaine from the suspects multiple times, some of which occurred close to schools, parks and churches.
27-year-old Jose R. Abrego was arrested for dealing cocaine; 25-year-old Juan Carlos Lopez Vega was arrested for dealing cocaine and possession of marijuana; 23-year-old Saul Ricardo Cruz was arrested for two counts of dealing cocaine, failure to appear in court, violation of a court order; 30-year-old Amanda Cea was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to deal; 36-year-old Jamie J. Payne was arrested for dealing cocaine; 31-year-old Rufino A. Garcia was arrested for dealing cocaine; 24-year-old Jonathan Galvin Lopez was arrested for dealing cocaine and 31-year-old Anibal J. Munoz was arrested on two counts of aiding, inducing or causing the dealing of cocaine.
The ninth suspect, 29-year-old Luis Acosta, is still sought by police and is wanted on two counts of dealing cocaine.
