(UNDATED) - You may survived “Black Friday”, now get ready for “Cyber Monday.”
Legend has it that the Monday after Thanksgiving is the biggest day of sales for online retailers, as people return to work and take advantage of high-speed internet connections.
Studies of web traffic have shown that's false.
The real biggest day for online shopping tends to come about halfway between Thanksgiving and Christmas, however The National Retail Federation says 69-million people are expected to shop "Cyber Monday", the group has set up a website at www.cybermonday.com to create one-stop shopping for discounts from 650 online retailers.
Many of those sites didn't bother with the distinction, and launched sales on black Friday.
Even the cybermonday site itself was hawking one-hour specials on Friday.
