Man Charged For Drugs Following Traffic Stop

(OOLITIC, IN) - What started out to be an ordinary traffic stop in Oolitic resulted in one man being charged with 3 class D felonies.

Police crews stopped a 1994 green GMC Sonoma being driven by 21-year-old James Deckard, a Bedford native, for a window violation.

Jon Jeffries,Marshal of the Oolitic Police Department say that during the course of the traffic stop officers discovered the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine and vicodin which the driver did not have a prescription for.

Deckard was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center being booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine (under 3 grams), possession of a schedule III controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.
